Sacristy Finds

One of the adjustments of moving is getting used to new sacristies. There is the joy of discovering things that are beautiful, cool, or just neat, the aggravation of not being able to find what you need, and the adjustment of stuff just being different from what you had before.

One compartment in the sacristy here amused me especially:

Really? There are religious items in the sacristy? Who knew?

Sacristies held a treasure trove: junks and gems. Everyone is always afraid of disposing of "Religious Items" so often things accumulate over the DECADES until some brave soul decides that enough is enough. In some ways, sacristies are like time capsules, communication from the past into the present.

fjm, the biology lab I work in is just like that too. :) What you say reminds me of this.

Father, I just want to know what the "etc." represents.

Sounds like that drawer is more properly named "lost and found."
