For us who live in these days between the Lord's Ascension and his Second Coming, his mission has been put into our hands and entrusted to our care. My homily for this weekend is posted here.
excellent homily, Fr. C! i especially can relate to the paragraph before the last in your homily about how it can be a challenge to bring God's love to the world that can be difficult and sometimes psinful. in my reflection of the readings this past week, a song by Miley Cyrus kept coming to mind that i guess i'm supposed to share a little bit about. her song is called "The Climb" and it seems to relate a bit to the message of this weekends readings. "The Climb" is really a beautiful song (even if you're not a Miley Cyrus fan)that says so much about staying strong and "keeping the Faith" and, also, it's about the "climb"(which can be interpreted as our journey in life) and how we will face troubles and have to take chances and even if we get knocked down in life, nothing can break us (or separate us from God.) in the song, too, she sings about how there will always be "another mountain we're going to want to make move" and how it will be an "uphill battle," but that it's "not about how fast we get there," but, "the climb"-what we do on our journey is what matters most. so, for us Christians, how we go out into the world and share God's love is what matters most. St. Paul's words to the Corinthians remind us that only three things last, and the greatest of these is love. we should also remember that nothing can ever separate us from the love of Jesus.
